About the role
Our client are an ambitious, fast-growing manufacturer with exciting expansion plans on the horizon. As the business scales, so does the volume and complexity of the data they handle and we're looking for a Compliance Officer to help them get the foundations right.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a genuinely pivotal role in shaping how a growing organisation manages data protection, governance and compliance, working closely with both our HR and Finance functions.

What you'll be doing
- Supporting compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and ISO27001 accreditation
- Helping develop, implement and review data protection policies, procedures and controls
- Conducting data protection audits, compliance reviews and risk assessments across departments and sites
- Maintaining Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and data inventories
- Monitoring data retention, storage limitation and secure disposal practices
- Investigating data protection incidents and near misses, supporting corrective actions
- Handling Subject Access Requests (SARs), erasure requests and other data subject rights requests
- Supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new systems and projects
- Coordinating GDPR and data privacy awareness training across the business
- Reviewing third-party supplier and processor compliance, including data processing agreements
- Working closely with HR and Finance teams to embed good data governance across key business functions
What we're looking for

- Sharp analytical thinking and excellent attention to detail
- A natural problem-solver with good risk awareness
- Confident communication and influencing skills, comfortable liaising across HR, IT, Operations, Legal and senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
