Bloxham School is seeking a vigilant, responsible and enthusiastic Lifeguard to join our Lettings and Leisure team. This is a key front-line role, ensuring the safety, security and enjoyment of all pool users, including students, staff and members of the wider community.

· £1,854 per annum
Working Arrangements:
· Mondays and Wednesdays, 6.30am to 8am
· 34 weeks Term Time only
· Further hours are available during school summer holidays

The Role:
As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for supervising the swimming pool and associated facilities, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and in line with operating procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining constant and vigilant supervision of the pool and surrounding areas.
- Ensuring compliance with the Swimming Pool Operating Procedures at all times.
- Carrying out rescues and emergency procedures when required.
- Conducting water quality checks and photometer testing when on opening duty.
- Monitoring the safety and condition of equipment and facilities, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Carrying out regular checks of changing areas, with particular attention to safety, cleanliness and hygiene.
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the pool.
- Attending regular training sessions to maintain qualification standards and personal development.
- Ensuring the facility is secured when not in use.
You will act as a positive ambassador for Bloxham School, interacting professionally and responsibly with all users of the facilities.
About You
We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious individual with a positive and professional approach.
Essential:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
- Hold a valid First Aid qualification.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a lifeguarding or leisure environment.
Personal Qualities:
- A strong role model with a professional attitude.
- Enthusiastic, proactive and positive in approach.
- Reliable, alert and committed to maintaining high safety standards.
