Overview
We are looking for a HGV class 1 driver tramping Monday to Friday. Driver will be allocated own truck with fridge and microwave. Paid bank holiday‘s and a Christmas shutdown.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring proper securing of cargo, especially when handling flatbed deliveries.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel efficiency.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records in accordance with legal requirements.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed transportation or similar cargo types.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 1 license.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations, vehicle maintenance procedures, and load securing techniques.
- Excellent navigation skills for efficient route planning across different regions.
- Ability to handle delivery driver responsibilities with professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the use of delivery management systems or GPS technology is advantageous.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
