Clinical Lead – Doves Nest Care Home (Stockport)

Doves Nest, part of Olea Care Group, is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Clinical Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership. This is a key role within the home, offering the opportunity to shape clinical quality, strengthen governance, and ensure outstanding, person‑centred care for our residents.
About the Role
As Clinical Lead, you will act as the senior clinical authority within the home, overseeing clinical governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure safe, effective, and high‑quality care is consistently delivered.
This role replaces the traditional Senior Nurse position and is suited to an experienced clinician who can lead teams, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain robust clinical governance systems
- Provide oversight of care planning, medication management, IPC, safeguarding, and incident management
- Set clear expectations and performance standards for the clinical and care teams
- Drive quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement
- Ensure the home is always inspection‑ready and represent the service during CQC visits
- Oversee clinical risk management and ensure learning is embedded
- Contribute to service strategy, capacity planning, and safe occupancy
- Support workforce planning, capability development, and retention
- Uphold the NMC Code and promote ethical, person‑centred care
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, GPs, MDTs, and external partners
About You
Essential:
- First‑level Registered Nurse (NMC)
- Minimum 5 years post‑registration experience, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of Health & Social Care regulations and CQC frameworks
- Proven experience in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Desirable:
- Experience within a care home or similar service
- Experience leading services through CQC inspections
- Evidence of driving measurable improvements in care quality
