Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our small finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop finance skills, learn more about our business and contribute to a supportive team. The successful candidate will play a key part in providing financial & administration support to financial operations in the company.
This role is being offered as a development opportunity and may also suit someone looking for a part-time position. Duties
- Assist with processing invoices, receipts and expense claims in accordance with company policies
- Support Senior Finance colleagues in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and accounts
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records, including filing systems
- Support the management of the team’s dedicated mailbox
- Respond to queries from Internal & External stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with colleagues to understand purchasing needs to assist with the development of procurement strategies
- Contribute to the improvement of financial procedures and the development of systems and processes
Skills
- Proven organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and SharePoint
- Experience using accountancy software, in particular Xero would be desirable
- Strong numeracy skills and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience in a finance or administrative role is advantageous, but not essential
- Working towards a finance, business or administration qualification is preferrable but training for the right candidate can be offered
Pay: £14.84 per hour
