Opportunity
Are you a hands-on problem solver who wants to understand how complex machinery works? If you are torn between pursuing an electrical or a mechanical career, you don’t have to choose.
We are looking for an Apprentice Engineering Maintenance Technician to join our team on a Dual-Discipline pathway. Working in partnership with HETA, our local engineering training provider, were you will train to become highly skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering. You will earn while you learn, combining top-tier workshop education at HETA with real-world, hands-on experience alongside our onsite engineers.

Have achieved a minimum of Grade 5 at GCSE Level (Grade C) in English, Maths & Science and at least one other GCSE.
Core Duties of your Apprenticeship

Identify the correct materials and tooling for different tasks and check that they are damage free & fit for use, e.g. safety features are all working, adhering to instructions given in OPLs and SWIs

Support the Maintenance team in delivering a full range of maintenance services to the business – learning how to prioritise tasks effectively.

Work with team colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness and complies with company and legislative standards at all times.

Ensure all appropriate PPE is worn at all times when working at height and assist with housekeeping

Undertake waste management duties, ensuring all recycling is processed efficiently, operating machinery where appropriate in a safe manner.
By the end of your Apprenticeship

Responsible for effectively completing engineering tasks within the maintenance team and following the departmental systems to ensure that task completion is carried out efficiently and effectively.

Conduct electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks as requested and communicate ongoing work effectively

Fault find on Electrical / Mechanical systems

Responsible for the completion of pre-task safety reviews, ensuring all safety precautions are demonstrated and adhered to

Adhere to all departmental systems and understand prioritisation where necessary

Source components / materials and place orders as necessary
