What this opportunity involves
The Head of Procurement – UK & Ireland will provide strategic leadership for JLL’s Sourcing & Procurement function across the UK&I business, developing and executing procurement strategies that deliver commercial value, operational excellence and best-in-class supplier performance.
The role will act as a senior procurement advisor to business leaders and clients, providing leadership across strategic sourcing, category management, supplier and contract management, procurement transformation and commercial risk.
Working within JLL’s regional and global procurement framework, the Head of Procurement UK&I will ensure local strategies are aligned with wider EMEA objectives while responding to the commercial and operational requirements of the UK&I business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership
Develop and execute the UK&I Sourcing & Procurement strategy aligned with JLL’s regional and global objectives.
Establish and communicate the procurement vision, priorities and operating model across UK&I.
Lead strategic sourcing, category management and supply-chain initiatives across multiple categories and client portfolios.
Identify market trends, commercial opportunities and supply-chain risks and translate them into actionable procurement strategies.
Drive procurement transformation, standardisation and continuous improvement across the region.
Commercial & Category Management
Lead development and execution of category strategies and sourcing programmes.
Oversee complex and high-value tendering, supplier selection and commercial negotiations.
Deliver measurable commercial value through cost optimisation, demand management, supplier consolidation and strategic partnerships.
Ensure procurement decisions consider total cost of ownership, commercial risk, service quality and long-term value.
Provide senior oversight of critical supplier and contractual negotiations.
Stakeholder & Client Leadership
Act as a trusted advisor and procurement SME to senior JLL leadership and key clients.
Partner with business leaders to understand commercial priorities and translate them into sourcing strategies.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers and strategic alliance partners.
Present procurement strategies, recommendations, risks and commercial outcomes to senior decision-makers.
Manage complex stakeholder environments and competing priorities across multiple business areas.
Supplier & Risk Management
Develop strategic supplier relationships and ensure appropriate supplier governance and performance management.
Drive supplier performance, innovation and continuous improvement.
Identify and mitigate commercial, operational and supply-chain risks.
Ensure supplier compliance with JLL policies, contractual obligations, ESG requirements and procurement standards.
Support responsible and sustainable sourcing objectives.
Leadership & People Development
Lead, coach and develop the UK&I procurement organisation.
Establish clear performance objectives and development plans for the team.
Build procurement capability and promote consistent best practice.
Create a high-performance culture focused on commercial impact, collaboration and accountability.
Partner with regional procurement leadership to develop talent and succession pipelines.
Key Skills & Experience
Significant senior-level experience within Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain or Category Management, ideally within a complex multinational organisation.
Typically 10+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, including substantial leadership responsibility. JLL uses the same 10+ year benchmark in its current Head of Procurement role.
Proven experience developing and executing enterprise or regional procurement strategies.
Strong experience managing large and complex spend portfolios and multiple procurement categories.
Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management and complex contract negotiation.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial analysis, business cases and total-cost-of-ownership modelling.
Experience operating within a matrixed regional/global environment.
Excellent senior stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation capabilities.
Demonstrated people leadership and experience developing high-performing procurement teams.
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data and market intelligence into commercial strategy.
Experience within commercial real estate, facilities management, professional services or outsourced services would be highly advantageous — JLL explicitly prioritises FM, maintenance, engineering and outsourcing exposure in comparable procurement leadership roles.
Degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline; CIPS/MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable.
