Location: Sheffield/London Hybrid Working
(Expectation that you will attend an office 2 days per week)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £32,500 Sheffield and up to £37,500 London
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)
In this role, you will provide legal and administrative support across the Bank’s Legal function, with a particular focus on litigation, dispute resolution and direct investment activity. You will work closely with in-house counsel, external legal advisers and colleagues across the Bank, helping to manage legal matters, support transaction activity and ensure legal services are delivered efficiently and professionally.
You will support litigation and dispute matters by helping to organise case files, provide support with administration tasks, prepare draft correspondence, briefing materials, and bundles of documents under supervision, maintain trackers, coordinate document collection and disclosure exercises, and monitor key deadlines, budgets and invoices. You will also assist with legal research, prepare summaries of relevant legal and regulatory developments, and support meetings or hearings where required.
This role supports direct investment activity by helping to instruct and liaise with external legal advisers, reviewing key transaction documents and supporting materials, assisting with non-disclosure agreements and related documents, and helping to maintain legal templates and records. You will also provide broader legal support across the team, including coordinating document execution, responding to internal requests under supervision, and supporting legal policies, procedures and reporting.
You’ll demonstrate good organisational skills, attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication. You will be comfortable working with confidential information, managing competing priorities and collaborating with colleagues across different teams.
Experience in a law firm, financial institution, development finance institution or in-house legal team would be helpful, but we are also interested in hearing from you if you can show a clear interest in developing a legal career and have the ability to bring a collaborative and professional approach, sound judgement, curiosity and a willingness to develop your legal knowledge across different areas.
A degree or equivalent experience is required, and a law degree, legal qualification or paralegal qualification would be desirable.
