Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support children in a vibrant educational environment. The successful candidate will help facilitate engaging activities, ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, and foster a positive atmosphere. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare, teaching, or working with young people, and who possess strong organisational and communication skills.
Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety at all times
- Organise and lead a variety of engaging activities including games, arts and crafts, and educational exercises
- Assist with homework support and tutoring as needed
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for children and staff
- Support children's social development by encouraging positive interactions
- Assist with organising snack times and managing behaviour in accordance with school policies
- Drive children to organised outings or activities when required (driving licence preferred)
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members regarding children's progress and behaviour
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in settings such as childcare, nannying, teaching, or similar roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of child development principles and behaviour management strategies
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French is a bonus but not mandatory
- Experience in driving children or transporting groups is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
- Compassionate, patient, and able to build positive relationships with children of various ages
