We're looking for a reliable, hardworking Removal Driver / Porter to join our team in Bristol.
This isn't primarily a driving job. You'll typically spend an hour or two each day behind the wheel of one of our Luton vans, with the rest of your day working alongside the removal crew, packing, loading, transporting and setting up our customers' belongings in their new homes or offices.
We're much more interested in finding the right person than someone with years of removals experience. Previous removals or Luton driving experience would be a big advantage, but full training will be provided.
What matters most to us is attitude. Painless Removals has built its reputation around making what can be one of the most stressful days in someone's life as painless as possible. That means being friendly, helpful and professional with customers while taking genuine care of their belongings.
You'll need to be reasonably physically fit as this is a hands-on job involving lifting furniture and boxes, carrying items up and down stairs and working as part of a crew throughout the day.
Your day-to-day work will include driving our Luton vans, loading and unloading customers' belongings, protecting and wrapping furniture, packing household items, dismantling and reassembling furniture, completing job paperwork and helping keep our vehicles and equipment clean, organised and ready for work.
Our team reports to our Filton, Bristol warehouse each morning. We typically work Monday to Saturday, averaging around 150 hours per month. Most days are roughly 8am–4/5pm, although removals don't always run to a stopwatch, so start and finish times can vary.
We also undertake long-distance removals throughout the UK. Usually once or twice a month this can involve working away, including destinations such as Cornwall or Scotland. When overnight stays are required, accommodation and associated work expenses are covered by us.
To drive our vehicles, you'll need to be 25 or over, hold a full UK driving licence and have no more than six points. Experience driving Luton vans or similar larger vehicles is preferred.
We're looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, is comfortable talking to customers and enjoys being part of a team. Some days can be long and physically demanding, so having a sense of humour definitely helps.
Full training is provided, and for the right person there is a clear route to progress into a Team Leader role, running your own removal crew.
This is a PAYE employed position, including 28 days' annual leave and workplace pension. Hours worked above the standard 150 hours per month will be paid at an additional 25% enhanced rate.
Immediate start available.
If you're hardworking, good with people and like the idea of a job where every day is different, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
