At School of Rock, we teach five main disciplines: keyboard, voice, guitar, bass and drums, combining individual lessons, group rehearsals and live performances.
We offer individual lessons and group rehearsals.
The Instructor at School of Rock teaches students from “ACDC to Zappa”, creating a safe and relaxed/friendly environment for them to reach their full musical potential. They ensure that each student at School of Rock has a fulfilling and personal musical journey. The instructor will be expected to follow a specific School of Rock syllabus. In support of this goal, the Instructor is responsible for all music and educational elements within the classes.
We are looking for Music Instructors to join our newest location, School of Rock Bayswater. Instructors work with students from the age of 4 through to adults, across a wide range of ages and ability levels, delivering individual lessons and group rehearsals across different instruments.
Academic Responsibilities:
Deliver a high standard of individual lessons using our Song First approach, whilst developing musicianship, theory and technique.
Lead or assist in rehearsals for mixed-ability groups, ensuring each student is appropriately challenged.
Help students prepare for performances by teaching stagecraft and stage presence, and building their confidence.
Assist with basic maintenance of school equipment and gear.
Customer Relationship Responsibilities:
Provide weekly feedback to parents about students' progress after lessons, and to other instructors where necessary.
Interact with parents and students regularly, being visible and accessible at the school.
Uphold safeguarding procedures and create an overall positive environment in the school.
Create an inclusive learning and social environment for our students.
Requirements:
Very high proficiency in at least one of the following: vocals, keyboard, guitar, drums or bass.
At least 4 years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
Highly organised and communicative.
Resourceful and a good problem solver under pressure.
Working musician with strong knowledge of music theory and musicianship.
Passion for teaching, with previous experience teaching music or working with children.
Ability to teach across a range of skill levels and ages.
Multi-instrumentalists are particularly welcome.
Ideally, an active performing musician.
Availability for a minimum of 3 days a week.
Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision Policy.
