We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and dedicated Senior Team Leader to join a well-established 2-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children's home.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a service committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. The home is currently supporting one young person, allowing staff to provide high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred care.
The home is Ofsted rated Good, with an Outstanding judgement for Leadership and Management, reflecting the strength of the management team, positive staff culture, and commitment to continuous improvement.
The Role
As the Senior Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the home. You will lead shifts, support Residential Support Workers, promote best practice, and help create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring the smooth, safe, and effective running of the home.
- Supervise, mentor, and support Residential Support Workers.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, independence, and positive outcomes.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, daily records, and incident reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Safeguard children at all times, ensuring compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, families, and other professionals.
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in maintaining high standards within the home.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a children's residential home.
- Experience leading shifts and supervising staff.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Children's Homes Regulations, and Ofsted requirements.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins where required.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
