LOCATION: Holly Road Head Offices, Skegness, Lincolnshire
JOB TITLE: Learning & Development Assistant
JOB TYPE: Full Time
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00 (with half an hour unpaid lunch break)
SALARY RANGE: £27,000 – £28,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)
Job Purpose:
To support the smooth delivery of Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives and ensure the efficient administration and coordination of L&D activities across the business. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business and external training providers to ensure the successful planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning and development activities.
Key Responsibilities to include:
- Co-ordinate Learning and Development events with internal stakeholders and external training providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, ensuring L&D KPIs and reporting metrics are monitored and updated.
- Support the review, evaluation, and continuous improvement of L&D processes and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of the company training budget and understand the impact of training bookings on expenditure.
- Administer training and retention agreements, ensuring records are maintained accurately and new agreements are processed appropriately.
- Provide regular updates on training schedules, attendance, compliance requirements, and any identified irregularities.
- Prepare, organise, and distribute training materials and ensure learning resources are accessible to all relevant employees.
- Produce reports and analyse training data to support decision-making and compliance requirements.
- Support the Learning & Development Officer with ad hoc projects, initiatives, and training activities.
- Assist with HR projects and administrative tasks as required.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned to support departmental and business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
Essential
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Competent IT and digital skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information appropriately.
- Good analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret and present training data.
- Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying process improvements.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative and sound judgement.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Learning & Development, Training, HR Administration, or similar administrative role.
- Experience of maintaining Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training databases.
- Understanding of training compliance requirements and employee development processes.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and process review methodologies.
- Experience of supporting projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Associate CIPD membership or progress towards a CIPD qualification.
