Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Adult Swim Coach to join our Adult programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing swimmers of various ages and skill levels, promoting safety, and fostering a positive environment that encourages learning and confidence in the water. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop coaching skills within a supportive team dedicated to aquatic education, fitness and training.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver swimming lessons tailored to individual and group needs, ensuring progression and skill development
- Monitor swimmers’ performance, providing constructive feedback to improve technique and confidence
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all participants adhere to pool rules to maintain a safe environment
- Organise training sessions, competitions between students, and water safety workshops as required
- Maintain accurate attendance records and progress reports for all swimmers
- Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment of swimming activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop programme content and improve coaching methods
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly in adult coaching and/or teaching
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to communicate effectively with learners of all ages and abilities
- Knowledge of water safety standards and first aid certification is preferred
- Enthusiastic, patient, and able to motivate others in a supportive manner
- Organised with good time management skills to plan sessions efficiently
- Must be aged 18 or over and hold relevant teaching and/or coaching qualifications such as certifications in swimming or sports coaching as well as hold water safety awards or qualifications.
- Ability to work flexible hours. Currently needing instructors for Sunday mornings between 6am and 9.30am as well as Saturday and Sunday evenings, between 7.30pm and 10pm.
