Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Technician Chargehand to support and lead day‑to‑day quality operations within our manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an experienced quality professional who can combine hands‑on inspection work with team coordination, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.
This role is for nightshift, at Weekends only.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights 6PM to 6AM
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Leadership — Lead and support a small team of quality technicians, ensuring daily tasks are completed to required standards.
- Inspection & Testing — Perform dimensional checks, visual inspections, functional tests, and product audits.
- Root Cause Analysis — Investigate defects, non‑conformances, and process deviations using structured problem‑solving tools.
- Documentation Control — Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and traceability documentation.
- Process Improvement — Support continuous improvement activities, corrective actions, and quality initiatives across the site.
- Compliance Oversight — Ensure adherence to ISO standards, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- Manufacturing Quality Experience — Minimum 2 years in a quality technician or inspector role.
- Leadership Ability — Experience guiding or mentoring others in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, PPAP, FMEA, or similar quality frameworks.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools.
- Background in automotive, precision engineering, or industrial manufacturing.
- Competence with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
Rate of pay will be based on skill/experience.
