The Pembroke is a busy, community-focused sports pub, and we're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Bar Supervisor to join our management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience as a Team Leader or Bar Supervisor who enjoys leading from the front and delivering outstanding customer service. You'll be one of the key faces of the pub, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for our regulars and new guests alike while ensuring the day-to-day operation runs smoothly.
Working closely with the management team, you'll be responsible for supervising shifts, supporting and developing the bar team, and maintaining high standards across service, cleanliness and compliance.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the bar team during busy service periods.
- Deliver friendly, efficient service and create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
- Act as one of the key faces of the pub, building strong relationships with our local customers.
- Carry out opening and closing procedures, ensuring the pub is secure and ready for service.
- Support with cash handling, till management and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Assist with staff training, coaching and motivating the team to deliver excellent service.
- Ensure licensing laws and Challenge 25 procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the bar and customer areas.
- Monitor stock levels, complete stock checks and report ordering requirements.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure health & safety and food hygiene standards are maintained.
- Support the management team with the smooth day-to-day running of the pub.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Bar Supervisor, Team Leader or Senior Bar Team Member within a busy pub or bar.
- Confident leading a team and supporting colleagues during busy shifts.
- Experience completing opening and closing procedures.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good understanding of licensing legislation, Challenge 25 and health & safety requirements.
- Passion for hospitality and creating a great experience for every guest.
