We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting in the daily operations of our café. This position requires a passion for hospitality and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
This role involves working weekend and weekday hours.
Duties
- Provide excellent customer service by welcoming and serving customers with a friendly attitude.
- Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to health and safety regulations.
- Support catering activities, including setting up and serving food for events as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate coffee machines and prepare beverages, utilising barista skills when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during busy periods.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Skills
- Previous experience in a café or restaurant environment is highly desirable.
- Strong hospitality skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential.
- Experience in catering services is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Barista experience is beneficial for preparing high-quality beverages.
