Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Ofsted Children's Home Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our 2 bed children’s residential care facility in Erdington. This vital role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children and young people in your care, while maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and fostering a positive, nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, extensive experience in children’s social care, and a passion for making a meaningful difference in young lives. Your proactive management will inspire your team to deliver exceptional care and support tailored to each child's unique needs.
Duties
- Lead the overall management of the children’s home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review personalized care plans that promote the emotional, social, and developmental needs of children and young people.
- Supervise and support staff team members, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership, training, and supervision.
- Oversee safeguarding procedures to ensure all children are protected from harm and that safeguarding policies are rigorously followed.
- Maintain accurate records related to children's progress, incidents, medication administration, and care planning.
- Build strong relationships with families, social workers, external agencies, and other stakeholders to support children’s well-being and transition plans.
- Ensure the home operates efficiently by managing budgets, resources, and compliance documentation while promoting a safe and welcoming environment.
Experience
- Proven experience managing or supervising within a children’s residential care setting or similar home environment.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Ofsted regulations, standards for children's homes, and safeguarding procedures.
- Extensive background in social care with familiarity in assisted living or home care settings for vulnerable populations.
- Experience developing and overseeing care plans tailored to individual needs including those related to complex behaviors or disabilities such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Strong leadership skills with previous management or supervisory roles in nursing homes or senior care environments.
- Skilled in medication administration, health & safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience working with children requiring specialized support such as dementia care or mental health interventions is advantageous but not essential.

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year

Application question(s):
- 2 years minimum working in a residential childcare setting within the past 5 years.
1 year minimum in a senior or supervisory capacity (such as Deputy Manager or Team Leader)
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or a proven willingness to work towards it within a set timeframe).
Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent foundational qualification
