Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our professional team. Duties
- Assisting with patient appointments, including pre-screening and record management
- Supporting optical staff in frame selection and fitting procedures
- Preparing and maintaining optical equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance
- Conducting basic eye tests under supervision, including visual acuity assessments
- Managing stock levels of lenses, frames, and other optical supplies
- Providing excellent customer service by answering patient queries and guiding them through procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the optical practice to meet health and safety standards
Requirements
- Previous laboratory experience or practical exposure to optical or healthcare environments is desirable
- Knowledge of human anatomy, particularly related to the eye, is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technology within the practice
