Job Title: Early Years Support Worker
Working hours: F/T or Part time hours
Reports to: Nursery Manager
Main Responsibilities:
To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 3months-5 years. To ensure that Stepping Stones Nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others. To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development. To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Room Lead or Nursery Manager.To complete all academic aspects of an apprenticeship/qualification.
Main Duties:
To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
To help ensure that Stepping Stones Nursery meets Care Inspectorate requirements at all times.
To understand and work towards policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints, and emergencies.
To share relevant information and ensure that information passed between parents and staff is communicated to the Nursery Manager as appropriate.
To be involved in developing and delivering a stimulating and creative atmosphere within Stepping Stones Nursery.
To follow all routines, duties, timetables, rotas, observations, planning and any other reasonable duty as requested by a senior member of staff and to ensure all paperwork is checked and filed away on a weekly basis.
To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.
To work in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Room Lead to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with Stepping Stones Nursery Aims and Objectives.
Involvement and enrolment in company training courses to be undertaken and completed which may, at various times, be outside normal working hours to comply with 60-hour requirement from SSSC registration.
To attend staff meetings, in-house workshop training sessions and any other events including parent’s evenings as requested by the Nursery Manager.
To carry out any other reasonable additional duties as requested by the Room Lead/Nursery Manager.
To maintain personal development records.
