Production Manager

Home County Co. is a fast-growing British home fragrance and toiletries manufacturer, hand-crafting products inspired by Britain's most beautiful places. With 500+ wholesale stockists and a thriving direct-to-consumer business, we're scaling quickly – and we need a Production Manager to take full ownership of our production process as we do.
Please note: we're relocating premises in December 2026, to a new unit within 15 minutes of our current site – there will be no material change to your commute.
Role Overview
This is a newly created, pivotal role bringing together production management and production planning under one roof. You'll take end-to-end ownership of how we make, plan, and stock our products – reporting directly to the Managing Director while pitching in wherever the business needs a hand, including packing.
Key Responsibilities
Production & ERP
Own the full production process from raw materials through to finished goods - including candles, reed diffusers, hand washes, lotions and soap bars.
Act as the primary user of our ERP system (MRPeasy), keeping stock, BOMs, and production data accurate and up to date
Maintain and improve production processes and documentation
Production Planning & Stock Management
Establish and maintain base stock levels across wholesale and web order channels
Monitor stock proactively, identifying replenishment needs before shortages arise
Analyse demand patterns across channels to optimise production scheduling and stock holding
Order Fulfilment & Packing
Oversee, and pitch in on, the packing of wholesale and web orders during busy periods, maintaining high standards of accuracy and presentation
Identify and implement improvements to packing and dispatch processes to reduce lead times
Raw Material Procurement
Take ownership of raw material ordering, ensuring sufficient materials to meet production requirements
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable lead times
Track raw material stock, flagging risks to supply continuity in good time
Profitability & Continuous Improvement
Track key metrics including lead times, stock accuracy, order fill rates, and procurement costs
Report regularly to the Managing Director on stock levels, order status, and operational issues
Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience in a production, production planning, or operations role
Confident working hands-on with an ERP or stock management system
Strong organisational skills, methodical and detail-oriented
Commercially minded, with an understanding of cost and margin
Desirable
Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
Familiarity with wholesale and e-commerce order management
Understanding of lean or continuous improvement principles

Package & Benefits
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum
Full-time, permanent – Mon–Fri, 8.30am–5pm
