Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries, ensuring excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Provide product recommendations and upsell items to maximize sales opportunities while meeting customer needs.
- Maintain an organized trade counter by merchandising products effectively, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked.
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with basic math proficiency.
- Manage time efficiently to serve multiple customers promptly during busy periods, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Support stock management by monitoring stock levels, restocking shelves, and assisting with stocktaking activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the counter area remains clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors.
Experience
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
- experience within the plumbing & heating merchant industry is highly adventageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey product information and build rapport with customers.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and upselling strategies is a plus.
- Ability to manage time effectively to prioritize tasks during busy periods.
