We are looking for a Revenue Assistant to join our Finance team in Bristol, supporting the delivery of a high-quality, client-focused billing and revenue service across the firm.
This is a key role acting as a link between Finance and our legal teams, helping to ensure a seamless, ‘right first time' billing experience for our clients. You'll play an important part in supporting cash collection, maintaining accurate billing data and delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be part of a supportive, collaborative team where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and build strong relationships across the firm.
What you'll be doing
You will work closely with Revenue Controllers and legal teams, taking ownership of billing processes and supporting the wider team. Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing, editing and processing bills and credit notes accurately and efficiently
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (including VAT, SRA Accounts Rules and AML requirements)
Managing WIP, disbursement write-offs, transfers and adjustments
Maintaining charge rates and billing data within our practice management system
Supporting e-billing activity across a range of client portals
Managing queries via team mailboxes and liaising with stakeholders across the firm
Building strong relationships with internal teams and supporting client interactions where needed
Escalating aged debt and supporting cash collection activity
Contributing to process improvements and supporting system and process changes
What we're looking for
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce consistently high-quality work
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A proactive, ‘can do' approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across different teams
Confidence working with systems, including Excel and other finance tool
It would also be beneficial if you have:
Previous billing or revenue experience, ideally within a professional services or legal environment
Experience working with Aderant or e-billing platform
