We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Support Worker to join the team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,200, and has a varied and complex population.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and ensure that care is delivered overnight as and when required. You will mainly be responding to emergencies, so a knowledge of bloods, obs, NEWS2 etc is required.
Hours:
This is a full time role, working night shifts. Shifts are 20:45 - 07:45 on a 2 week rota:
Week 1 - 4 nights
Week 2 - 3 nights
Salary:
This position is full time , you’ll receive an annual salary of £25,557 - £29,723 per annum.

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Act as backup emergency response, working alongside nurses overnight
- Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
- Carry out bloods, observations, ECGs etc as needed
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
- Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
- Have experience within a healthcare setting - hospital, community or secure setting
- Have clinical experience, such as bloods, observations, ECGs etc
- Any experience in primary care or inpatients would be a bonus!
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
