We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structured Cabling Engineer to join our growing team in Glasgow. This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects across commercial and industrial environments.
About the Role
As a Structured Cabling Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems. You will work closely with project teams and clients to ensure high-quality delivery and successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and assess cabling requirements
- Install, terminate, label, and test copper and fibre cabling systems
- Design and implement structured cabling layouts
- Diagnose and resolve cabling and connectivity issues
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing network infrastructure
- Complete testing, certification, and documentation of installed systems
- Provide technical support and excellent customer service to clients
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations
RequirementsEssential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in structured cabling installation and maintenance
- Strong technical support and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in a variety of on-site environments
- Valid CSCS or ECS Card (essential)
Desirable Qualifications
- Industry-recognized structured cabling certifications
- Experience with copper and fibre optic cabling systems
- Network infrastructure testing and certification experience
