We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sport Operative to join our Commercial Sports team at Bishop Burton College.
You may currently be working in a leisure centre, gym, sports club, education setting or another customer service environment where you support a wide range of users. You will have recent experience within sport, leisure or customer service, alongside a good understanding of sport and fitness. A Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification and First Aid qualification are desirable, or you must be willing to achieve these.
This is a varied, hands-on role in which no two days are the same. You will help ensure our sports facilities are clean, safe and ready for use, set up and dismantle equipment, conduct gym inductions and support fitness programmes. You will also assist with match days, sporting events and camps, process bookings and memberships, and provide a welcoming service to students, staff, partner organisations and commercial customers.
You will be organised, confident using IT systems and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. A positive, can-do attitude, strong communication skills and a flexible approach to working evenings and weekends when required are essential.
At Bishop Burton College, you will join a collaborative Sports Department that includes Sports Operatives, Groundsmen, Coaches, Strength and Conditioning Coaches and Physiotherapists. You will work across high-quality facilities used by our students, Sports Academies and professional organisations, including Hull City AFC and Hull FC.
If you are passionate about sport, enjoy working with people and take pride in delivering excellent facilities and customer service, we would love to hear from you.
