Working Pattern
- Monday 7:45am – 6:30pm (with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
- Friday 1:30pm – 6:30pm
Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave and sickness.
About Us
Ashcroft Surgery is a friendly, patient-focused dispensing GP practice serving approximately 4,800 patients in the village of Wing. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality care to our patients and creating a supportive working environment for our team.
We are looking for a welcoming, organised and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our small and dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and wants to make a real difference to patients every day.
The Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice. The role is varied, fast-paced and rewarding.
Duties will include:
- Greeting and assisting patients both in person and over the telephone
- Booking and managing appointments
- Handling patient enquiries in a professional and compassionate manner
- Processing prescription requests
- Registering new patients and updating patient records
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Supporting clinicians and colleagues with administrative tasks
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Be confident using computers and learning new systems
- Be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Be reliable, professional and approachable
Previous experience in a GP surgery, healthcare setting, reception role or customer service position would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
