Finance Manager
Brighton & Hove Jewish Community (BNJC)

BNJC is looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finance function across our group of organisations.
This is a practical operational finance role, ideal for someone who is confident managing everything from transaction processing and reconciliations through to month-end and the preparation of draft management accounts.
The role
- Manage day-to-day finance across several BNJC Group entities
- Maintain accurate accounting records within Xero
- Manage purchase and sales ledgers, payments and credit control
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany adjustments
- Own the month-end close process
- Prepare monthly draft management accounts and supporting schedules
- Prepare VAT workings and support year-end and audit activity
- Maintain finance and operational KPI information
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
- Provide day-to-day finance cover for the Director of Finance when required
What we’re looking for
- AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
- Strong hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience
- Experience producing draft management accounts
- Significant experience using Xero
- Strong reconciliation and month-end accounting skills
- Good Excel skills
- Highly organised, accurate and comfortable working independently
- Experience working across multiple entities or business areas would be particularly useful
Experience within a charity, hospitality, retail, venue or community organisation would be an advantage.
