Front of House Staff – 15 Hours per Week

We’re looking for an experienced, friendly and reliable Front of House team member to join us at The Lord Nelson in the heart of Luddenden.
The Lord Nelson is a traditional village pub at the centre of a fantastic local community. Set in the beautiful Calder Valley, Luddenden is a small, characterful village with a strong community spirit, and our pub is a place where locals, walkers and visitors can come together for good food, drinks and a warm welcome.
We’re looking for someone who understands what makes a great local pub and can help us provide the friendly, personal service our customers value.
Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours
Position: Part-time Availability: Weekend and event-day availability is essential
About you: Previous bar and pub experience is essential for this role. You’ll need to be confident working behind the bar, serving customers and handling busy periods.
You should:
- Have previous bar experience and be confident serving a range of drinks
- Be comfortable working independently behind the bar when required
- Have excellent customer service skills and enjoy getting to know regular customers
- Be friendly, welcoming and comfortable chatting with people from all walks of life
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a close-knit team
- Be available to work weekends and our event days
- Be flexible to pick up additional hours when available
- Take pride in keeping the bar and pub looking its best
The role:
You’ll be welcoming customers, serving drinks, handling payments and helping to make sure everyone who comes through the door receives the kind of warm, relaxed service you’d expect from a great village pub.
This is more than simply serving behind a bar. The Lord Nelson is part of the Luddenden community, and we want someone who will enjoy becoming part of that — getting to know our regulars, welcoming new faces and helping us maintain the friendly atmosphere that makes a good local pub special.
The role is initially for around 15 hours per week, with the opportunity for more hours for the right person. Flexibility is important, particularly around weekends, busy periods and special event days.
