Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in their care. Previous experience in care environments is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation and review of individual care plans in collaboration with senior staff
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and maintain accurate records
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of care environments to meet health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Drive or accompany clients on outings or appointments when required (driving skills preferred)
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to elderly or vulnerable individuals
- Proficiency in basic IT systems for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy
- Driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn driving responsibilities is appreciated
