Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and Experienced rigid Hiab Lorry Driver to join our NIGHT team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in commercial driving, particularly in Civils & Rail Plant transport. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively using your own initiative. As a Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries for the transportation of Plant & goods to various locations.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of Plant & Materials.
- Conduct pre-use inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition.
- Communicate effectively with Logistical staff regarding delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise delivery routes and schedules.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with Civils & Rail Plant.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently.
- A good understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for driving.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by delivery schedules.
