Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our aquatic programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and abilities, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those with a background in sports coaching or teaching to share their expertise and promote water safety. The Swim Instructor will work closely with participants to develop their confidence and proficiency in the water, fostering a positive learning experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons tailored to individual needs and skill levels
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and supervising activities at all times
- Plan and organise lesson plans that align with recognised swimming standards and programmes
- Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to help learners improve their technique
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pool area before, during, and after lessons
- Monitor participants' progress and keep accurate records of attendance and development
- Promote water safety awareness among learners and emphasise the importance of safe practices in aquatic environments
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within a swimming environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and encourage learners of all ages
- Certification in lifeguarding or water safety (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to organise engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs
- Enthusiastic, patient, and professional attitude towards teaching water skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required
- A recognised swimming qualification or equivalent is essential for employment

The role is all year round at Heath Cottage, Thriplow Heath, Royston SG8 7RS (on the a505 between Royston and Duxford)
Monday 3.45-6.45pm
Tuesday 4-7pm
Wednesday 2.45-7.15 & 4-7pm
Thursday 3.45-7.15pm
Friday 4-7pm
Saturday 8.30-2 & 2.15-5.15pm
Sunday 11.30-4.30pm
Pay: £15.00-£21.00 per hour
