HGV Driver/Yard Operative– TG Builders Merchants Ltd, Nantwich, Cheshire.
The Role
We are seeking a Yard Operative with a HGV Class 2 Licence to join our Nantwich team. This is predominantly a yard-based position, supporting the day-to-day running of the branch and providing excellent service to our customers. HGV driving duties will be undertaken on an ad hoc basis to provide holiday, absence or operational cover when required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving and assisting customers in the yard.
- Loading customer vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading supplier deliveries.
- Receiving, checking and storing stock.
- Preparing customer orders and vehicles for delivery.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard environment.
- Carrying out regular stock handling and housekeeping duties.
- Providing relief HGV Class 2 delivery cover as required.

Qualifications & Experience
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence.
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Forklift Truck Licence (preferred).
- HIAB Crane Licence (preferred).
- Previous experience working within a builders' merchant, timber merchant, warehouse, yard or construction-related environment would be advantageous.
