Battlefield Surgery is a welcoming and friendly GP practice based in the Southside of Glasgow, just a short distance from the New Victoria Hospital. We’re looking for a part-time Receptionist to join our small, supportive team.
About the role
This is a flexible, zero-hours position offering around 10 hours per week. Our practice is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and we’re looking for someone who can work flexibly across these hours.
Friday availability is essential, as we’re particularly keen to have this day covered.
As part of a close-knit team, we all support one another, so there will also be opportunities to provide additional cover during annual leave or staff absences. Once fully trained, your role may include opening and closing the surgery.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in providing a positive experience for our patients, helping to keep the practice running smoothly day to day. Your responsibilities will include:
- Booking appointments both in person and over the phone
- Responding to patient and clinician queries
- Sharing test results and messages
- Signposting patients to the most appropriate services
- Managing prescription requests and new patient registrations
- Supporting with general administrative tasks
What we’re looking for
We’re ideally looking for someone with experience in a GP practice or hospital reception setting, although we welcome applicants who can demonstrate the right skills and attitude.
You’ll be:
- Friendly and professional, with a genuine interest in helping patients
- Calm and organised, even when things get busy
- Confident using IT systems and handling a variety of tasks
- A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail
- A supportive team player who can also work independently
Experience with medical terminology and audio typing would be an advantage, and familiarity with Vision clinical system or Docman would be beneficial, but not essential.
