About the Role
Thames Building Control is seeking an experienced Class 2B or 2F Registered Building Inspector to join our growing team as a Project Manager.
This is a permanent position opportunity for an experienced building control professional capable of taking ownership of a varied portfolio of projects and providing a high level of technical expertise throughout the building control process, from quotation through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out site inspections throughout key stages of construction.
· Design assessments for building control compliance.
· Manage technically complex projects within the scope of your RBI registration and demonstrated competence.
· Identify non-compliant work and provide clear advice regarding actions.
· Produce professional inspection reports, technical correspondence and project documentation.
· Liaise with relevant authorities, statutory consultees and other professionals where required.
· Manage your own diary and inspection programme across your designated geographical area.
· Maintain RBI registration, competence records and appropriate CPD.
Essential Requirements
· Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2B, 2F or above.
· Strong technical knowledge of the Building Regulations, Approved Documents and relevant building control legislation.
· Minimum two years’ experience following BSR Registration.
· Full UK driving licence and must have use of own vehicle to undertake site inspections.
· Willingness to travel throughout the designated inspection area and outside (if required) by the needs of the business.
Technical/Knowledge Requirements
· Competent user of IT and its application, including Microsoft Office; specifically Word, Excel and Outlook. Barnbrook CRM system knowledge is preferable.
· Strong working knowledge of current building control legislation, associated requirements, guidance and issues relevant to the role and the wider service.
· Good awareness of construction and site health & safety requirements.
· Ability to work as part of a team, understanding the value and benefit of strong teamwork.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and pragmatically.
· Strong organisational and project management skills.
