Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSEQ Manager to lead our health, safety, environment, and quality assurance initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust HSEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards and promote a safe, sustainable, and high-quality working environment. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee HSEQ management systems in line with industry standards and legislative requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and prepare detailed report writing to inform preventative measures.
- Coordinate emergency response planning, including first aid procedures and training programmes for staff.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations, and company policies through audits and inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness through training sessions, toolbox talks, and communication campaigns.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies during inspections or audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage documentation related to HSEQ activities, including incident reports, audit records, and improvement plans.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing data trends and implementing best practices across the organisation
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar HSEQ management role within a construction environment is essential, background within traffic management is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
- Certification in first aid is essential; additional qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in report writing, conducting root cause analysis, and managing incident investigations effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to engage with staff at all levels and external regulatory authorities.
