Job Description
The Boat Outfitter will be responsible for generaloutfitting tasks, including working on sub-assemblies and components, fittingthem to the boat, dress beading joints, and bolting parts together. This rolerequires experience with GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), adherence toengineering standards, and an understanding of ISO standards.
Objectives
- Perform general outfitting tasks, including fitting sub-assembliesand components to boats.
- Dress beading joints and bolt parts together securely.
- Utilize GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) in various outfittingtasks.
- Follow engineering standards and ensure compliance with ISOstandards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion ofprojects.
- Provide input on improving outfitting processes and techniques
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience in boat outfitting, particularly with GRP.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and ISO standards.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve outfitting issues.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Perform light fabrication tasks, including cutting, shaping, and assembling metal and plastic components
- Prior experience with MoD boats is advantageous but not essential.
