Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cake Baker and Food Preparation Assistant to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods and assisting with various food preparation tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of cakes, pastries, and baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare and cook simple food prep items including Bacon, Tuna Mayo, Salads and Pizza toppings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and allergen regulations at all times.
- Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and other specialised tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all baked items are presented attractively and meet presentation standards before serving or packaging.
- Support the team in stocking ingredients and supplies, checking for freshness and quality control.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or bakery environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, baking processes, and kitchen safety practices is desirable.
- A genuine interest in food and baking along with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and procedures to maintain hygiene throughout the food preparation process.
This is a temporary role for the duration of the summer, the successful candiate must be available for shifts throughout July, August and September. Further work may be available after the summer depending on trade levels.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
