Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Supported Housing Accommodation Officer to oversee and coordinate housing services for individuals in need of supported accommodation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive appropriate support, maintain their independence, and adhere to housing policies. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the community by providing compassionate and professional support to vulnerable individuals. The position involves managing tenancy agreements, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. A strong understanding of negotiation techniques and experience with Yardi property management software are desirable qualities for applicants.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee supported housing units, ensuring residents’ needs are met effectively and compassionately.
- Conduct regular tenancy reviews and facilitate smooth move-ins and move-outs.
- Liaise with residents, social workers, and external agencies to coordinate support plans and resolve issues promptly.
- Utilise negotiation skills to mediate disputes and secure favourable outcomes for residents and the organisation.
- Maintain accurate records of tenancy agreements, support plans, and case notes using Yardi or similar property management systems.
- Ensure compliance with all housing legislation, health & safety regulations, and organisational policies.
- Provide guidance to residents on tenancy rights, responsibilities, and available support services.
- Promote a positive community environment by organising engagement activities and fostering good neighbour relations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in housing management or supported accommodation roles is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Familiarity with Yardi or comparable property management software is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to supported housing and social care is advantageous.
