Court Welder Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our production facility in Scunthorpe. You will be responsible for fabricating and welding steel components used in the manufacture of our premium padel courts, ensuring every product meets our high standards of quality, accuracy and safety.
Working as part of a close-knit manufacturing team, you will play an important role in delivering products that are installed at some of the UK's leading sports facilities.
About Padel Build UK
Padel Build UK is a leading UK manufacturer and installer of premium padel courts. Working with sports clubs, leisure operators, schools, local authorities and private investors across the UK, we deliver high-quality padel facilities from initial enquiry through to completion. As demand for padel continues to grow, we're looking for an organised and customer-focused Sales Administrator to support our expanding sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding galvanised steel components to engineering drawings.
- Fabricating structural steel sections used in padel court construction.
- Preparing, cutting, grinding and finishing materials.
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- Operating fabrication equipment and workshop machinery safely.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Reporting material shortages or production issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Assisting with assembly and preparation of products for dispatch when required.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
- Supporting with other warehouse duties when required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in MIG welding.
- Experience working within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Desirable
- TIG welding experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Fabrication qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience working with structural steel or architectural metalwork.

This role is 40 hours a week Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime required during busy periods.
