That’s Script: Restaurant & Bar at The Hertsmere, and we’re looking for experienced Bartenders to join our team.
What you’ll be doing
No two shifts are quite the same at Script. From relaxed daytime service and post-round drinks to lively evening crowds, society events, and private functions, you’ll be the heart of the bar experience.
- Welcoming guests at the bar with warmth and professionalism
- Preparing and serving a full range of drinks — barista coffees, soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails
- Taking orders efficiently, handling payments, and delivering excellent bar service
- Keeping the bar area clean, fully stocked, organised, and looking its best throughout service
- Supporting events, golf society days, private functions, and busy weekend and evening periods
- Working closely with the wider front-of-house and kitchen teams to keep service running smoothly
Who we’re looking for
Experience is key for this role. We’re looking for people who already know their way around a busy bar and can hit the ground running. The right candidate will:
- Have previous bar or hospitality experience (this is essential — we need someone who can already prepare drinks, manage a busy bar, and deliver confident service)
- Be friendly, confident, and love looking after people
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during busy periods
- Be 18 or over (required for serving alcohol)
- Be able to commit to regular availability that includes evenings and weekends (this is essential for the role, as our busiest and most important service times fall then, along with bank holidays)
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have reliable access to your own transport — this is important. The venue sits in a countryside location (Medburn Lane / Watling Street, Elstree) that is not always straightforward by public transport, particularly for evening finishes and weekend shifts. Own transport helps ensure you can arrive and leave reliably. Free on-site parking is available.

Job type: Casual / flexible hours. Regular evening, weekend, and bank-holiday availability is required.
