Financial Services Administrator
Leicester | £25,500 – £32,000 DOE | Full-time, Permanent
Witcher Associates is recruiting for a Financial Services Administrator to join an established and friendly Financial Services business in Leicester.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within Financial Services. You don't necessarily need previous experience working for an IFA or Financial Services business, but you will need to demonstrate that you already have some knowledge, exposure or understanding of the industry.
That could have come from studying a relevant course or qualification, working within banking, pensions, investments or another area of Financial Services, or simply having developed a good understanding of the sector and its terminology.
You don't need to know everything from day one, but terms such as pensions, investments, tax-free cash and taxable income shouldn't feel completely unfamiliar.
Equally, our client would be very happy to consider an experienced Financial Services, IFA, Financial Planning or Wealth Management Administrator looking for their next long-term move.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with Financial Advisers and the wider team, you'll provide administrative support while helping to ensure clients receive an efficient and professional service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to Financial Advisers
- Processing and maintaining client documentation
- Updating client records and ensuring information is accurate and up to date
- Preparing client correspondence and documentation
- Liaising with clients, product providers and third parties by telephone and email
- Supporting the administration of pensions, investments, protection and other Financial Services products
- Managing incoming queries and ensuring actions are completed promptly
- Maintaining accurate records on the firm's back-office system
- Ensuring client files and documentation meet internal and FCA requirements
- Providing wider administrative support to the team when required
What we're looking for
We're keeping the level of experience fairly open. What's most important is that you have some foundation of Financial Services knowledge and a genuine interest in developing within the industry.
You'll ideally have:
- Some understanding of Financial Services and IFA terminology
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence communicating with clients and providers
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work well within a small, close-knit team
Previous experience using an IFA or Financial Services back-office system would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Training & progression
This is a business that is keen to support people who want to develop.
Professional qualifications aren't required, but if you're interested in studying towards relevant Financial Services qualifications, you'll be supported and given time to develop your knowledge.
There could also be opportunities to progress further within Financial Services over time, potentially including a longer-term route towards becoming a Financial Adviser if that's something you're interested in.
Equally, there's no expectation to follow the Adviser route, and someone looking to build a long-term career within Financial Services administration would be equally welcome.
What's on offer?
- £25,500 – £32,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- 23 days' annual leave
- Workplace pension
- Private healthcare following successful completion of probation
- Support towards relevant professional qualifications
- Long-term career development opportunities
- Friendly, supportive and close-knit working environment
- Potential for some hybrid flexibility once fully trained and established
The position will initially be predominantly office-based in Leicester, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling into the office regularly.
If you have some existing Financial Services knowledge and are looking for an opportunity to start, develop or continue your career within the industry, we'd love to hear from you.
