Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial properties, contributing to transforming spaces with colour and design. Applicants should possess good communication skills and a valid driving licence to facilitate travel between sites.
Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or filling imperfections before painting or decorating
- Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety standards
- Mixing colours and preparing materials as required for each project
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures during work
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating is highly desirable
- Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to painting works
- Good command of English language for effective communication on-site
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between multiple job sites
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
