Required from September 2026
To use curricular / learning skills and experience to support pupils:
· To establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations, while encouraging pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others;
· To support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs and, at the same time, to promote the inclusion of all pupils;
· To employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance, providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
· To monitor and evaluate pupils' responses to learning activities through the observation and planned recording of achievement against predetermined learning objectives and to provide for the teacher objective and accurate feedback and reports on pupil achievement, progress and other matters as required, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence;
· To be responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed with the teacher, contributing to the reviews of systems and records as requested;
· To undertake personal care for the student as detailed in their individual healthcare plan for which the applicant should be specially trained or agree to undertake specialist training.
· To undertake any other reasonable duties and activities that fall within the grade and role of the post as decided by the Head of School or the SENCo.
