At Shred-it we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service and reliability to our customers. Our team of Service Drivers are the backbone of our success and due to internal promotion, we’re now looking for a dedicated Team Leader to help us maintain our high standards.
This is a hands-on branch-based role, supervising a small team of drivers and warehouse staff at our Rainham branch, it may also involve some driving duties where needed. You’ll be approachable and supportive, encouraging open communication between the team whilst supporting with inductions, development and training of drivers.
Hours/Shifts: 40hrs / 8hrs per day /Mon – Fri / 2pm – 10pm
Salary: £36,000
*As part of role requirements, all employees are required to complete a DBS check.
Job Activities:
- Ensuring daily work scheduled for drivers are prepared and distributed.
- Spending time in the field with the Drivers and implementing roadside coaching development and security checks.
- Developing and maintaining a strong customer service and safety culture.
- Supervisory management of drivers, including induction, training and development of staff, co-ordination of driver assessments/ride a longs and observations.
- Supervisory management of site activities on the late shift which includes leading a small team of drivers and warehouse staff.
- Provide positive leadership and encourage open communication amongst the team.
- Encourages strong cross-functional cooperation between all departments.
Experience:
- Proven experience working alongside Class 1 & Class 2 Drivers.
- Commercial driving experience (Must have Cat B minimum)
- Solid understanding of logistics, routing and scheduling.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.
- Strong leadership and team management skill.
- Good interpersonal skills - able to lead and motivate others by skill and example.
