An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Newport City Council’s Education Services Team as an Education Support Services Officer.
There are three Education Support Services Officer posts within the Education Support Services Team. Team members support a range of central education statutory and non-statutory functions that impact the operational delivery of school support services and ensure that all relevant workstreams are carried out on time and to a high quality.
The successful candidate will have an awareness and understanding of all duties within the job description but will be primarily responsible for:
To support the Education Support Services Manager in ensuring that the School Meals service operates in compliance with the terms and conditions outlined in the contract. This will include:
providing administrative support to the School Meals Contract Board.- monitoring the uptake of Free School Meals and Universal Primary Free School Meals and tracking data trends.
- facilitating operational delivery of Breakfast Clubs and monitoring associated costs.
To facilitate an agreed programme of school kitchen inspections, escalating any issues quickly through the Education Support Services Manager so that they can be resolved quickly and appropriately, and consider opportunities for seeking learner voice and stakeholder feedback.
To ensure that effective processes are in place to support the Education Support Services Manager in completing all grant claims, and ensure that the Council is fully reimbursed for all costs incurred.
