Overview
Supporting the Compliance Director and other Company Directors and managers within the Senior Management Team in meeting their legal obligations with regard to Health, Safety, Environmental, Legal Compliance, Food Safety and Quality Standards. The role is based in Crewe and covering the Northern Region (Bellshill, Crewe & Skelmersdale)
Duties
- Assisting in the implementation of Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance policies, procedures and systems.
- Monitoring of the Health, Safety, Quality and legal compliance systems by auditing and review of site operations.
- Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the company through your individual actions.
- Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to management and staff, fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Assisting the Compliance Director in obtaining and maintaining BRCGS & ISO Accreditation at all company sites.
- Assisting in all accidents, incidents and near miss investigations and ensuring the Compliance Director is informed of all accidents and claims.
- Liaise with outside bodies including but not limited to HSE, EHO, Fire, legal authorities and customer representatives.
- Working with the Training department, organise training sessions as required
- Prepare comprehensive report writing on safety performance, audit findings, and improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and ensure their effective implementation.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, training activities, and compliance documentation.
- Assist operational managers in the monitoring of Driver Hours & Tachograph Infringements through the Company Software ensuring compliance with the Companies Operating Licence.
Skills
- Proven experience in health, safety, environmental or quality assurance roles.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues behind incidents or non-conformities.
- First aid certification is highly desirable; the ability to provide immediate assistance in emergencies is essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence positive safety behaviours. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering a safe working environment while ensuring organisational compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

- A working knowledge of WTD and EU Driver Hours legislation
