We are looking for enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our partner schools on a full-time, long-term basis, starting in September 2026. About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working closely with teachers and other professionals to help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment. This may include providing one-to-one support or working with small groups of pupils with a range of additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
- Support pupils in achieving the targets outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Work closely with class teachers to deliver differentiated learning activities.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Support pupils with their social, emotional, and personal development.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all children.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Teaching Assistant qualification, Care qualification, or relevant experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Experience providing one-to-one or small-group support is desirable.
- A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to the individual needs of pupils and the school.
- Two recent professional references from an education or childcare setting.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
