Support us in shaping the Future of Data & AI at Mitchells & Butlers, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data & Analytics Platform Manager to join our award-winning IT & Technology team on a permanent basis. This hybrid role is based at our Birmingham Head Office and offers the chance to build and lead a strategic enterprise capability that will power data-driven decision making across one of the UK's largest hospitality businesses.
This is a newly created role with a high degree of visibility and influence. You'll own the strategy, roadmap, governance and continuous evolution of our enterprise Data & Analytics Platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, cost-effective and aligned to both business priorities and architectural standards.
As Mitchells & Butlers continues its data transformation journey, you'll play a pivotal role in enabling advanced analytics, AI adoption, predictive insight and trusted self-service reporting across the organisation.
With more than 1,600 pubs, bars and restaurants, including Toby Carvery, Miller & Carter, All Bar One, Browns, Ego and Harvester, you'll have the opportunity to deliver data capabilities at genuine enterprise scale.

What You'll Be Doing in this Data & Analytics Platform Manager role

Define and own the Data & Analytics Platform strategy, roadmap and investment plans.

Build compelling business cases that demonstrate value, capability maturity and measurable outcomes.

Lead the delivery and optimisation of modern data platform capabilities across Azure.

Champion best practice across DataOps, MLOps, platform engineering and AI readiness.

Drive platform performance, resilience, scalability and cost optimisation.

Partner with Architecture, Security, Governance, Engineering and business stakeholders to establish consistent standards and ways of working.

Enable trusted, governed AI and advanced analytics capabilities across the organisation.

Establish clear ownership models and operating principles spanning central teams and business domains.

Manage strategic technology partners and vendors, holding them accountable for agreed outcomes and delivery.
What You'll need to bring to the Data & Analytics Platform Manager

An individual who combines outstanding technical expertise with exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently to a wide range of audiences

Microsoft Azure data platform, including Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, and Data Lake

Enterprise semantic layer, ontology and knowledge graph awareness, SQL, relational, non-relational, lakehouse, graph and streaming data patterns and techniques
- DevOps, DataOps, MLOps and CI/CD for data, analytics and AI platforms Monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, and cost management across data platforms
