Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of metal components, including sheet metal and fabricated parts, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions to determine welding requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively to assemble and fabricate metal structures.
- Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and aligning parts prior to welding.
- Conduct quality checks on welded components for defects or inconsistencies, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist in the assembly process as needed, contributing to the overall production workflow.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Skills
- Proven experience in MIG welding with a solid understanding of welding techniques and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of TIG welding is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to metalwork and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
- Experience working with sheet metal and performing assembly tasks efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
